It’s the fastest growing part this area’s tourist industry. If you look at listings of lodgings in almost any given town on the coast, there are more vacation homes for rent than actually hotels or motels. Most of the chambers will tell you they saw that number of rentals overtake the regular lodgings and inns years ago – and it’s still getting bigger. Check the town’s official website and it will show a far greater number of single homes and agencies than actual lodgings. Indeed, the town is building high-end condos at an extraordinary rate, and some of the motels are being torn down and turned into condos.
